Fire Safety Tips for Kids
Learning about fire safety is super important — and it can be fun too! Here are some easy tips to remember:
Stop, Drop, and Roll!
If your clothes catch fire, don't run! Stop where you are, drop to the ground, cover your face, and roll over and over to put out the flames.
Get Low and Go!
Smoke rises, so if there’s smoke, crawl low to the floor and go to the nearest exit.
Never Play with Matches or Lighters
These are tools for grown-ups only. If you see them, tell an adult right away.
Know Two Ways Out
Learn two ways to get out of every room in your home — just in case one exit is blocked.
Have a Family Meeting Spot
After you get out safely, meet your family at a special spot outside (like a big tree or a neighbor’s porch).
Practice Fire Drills at Home
Pretend it's a real emergency. Know how to get out fast, and never go back inside for anything.
